Memory specialist Kingston Digital has recently announced a pair of new upgrades to its Wi-Drive wireless tablet storage system, bringing increased capacity and new support also for Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet.
Originally designed for the Apple iPhone/iPod/iPad users have bemoaned the fact that they should have bought a device with larger storage capacity when they are close to the limit. the Wi-Drive is a rechargeable solid-state storage device designed to add 32GB of capacity to existing tablets, allowing owners to easily upgrade their iPad's storage without having to buy an entirely new tablet. It Just looks like and iphone size device .
And another thing : it has always been a pain to get photos, movies and muciinto an Ios device without having to use software, iTunes or some other third party adaptor.
What the Wi-Drive , which in itself is a flash drive in two sizes (16GB and 32 GB) does is to stream data wirelessly to the iOS Device. The next coming model will be the 64 GB model due for launched later this year ,and that can allow user to stream video content for extended hours and also will allow Airplay streaming and playback of DRM Protected content
However, with the addition of support for Amazon's Android-based Kindle Fire tablet ,the proven device will most probably be among the top most sought after device that has proven incredibly popular in the US, offering full-colour web browsing, film rental and other facilities not previously available on Amazon's Kindle eReader range.
With the Wi Drive , it provide all user full access to between 32GB to 64GB of additional storage space and this supporting element will boost the use of all mobile device to full capacity
"Since its debut, Kingston Wi-Drive has been a success with Apple mobile device users. As more consumers adopt Kindle Fire as their mobile device for personal media consumption, we are proud to help this new segment of users store and share photos, videos, music and much more," explained Kingston Digital's Krystian Jaroszynski of the announcement. "The combination of the app update, higher capacity and Kindle Fire support makes Wi-Drive the perfect wireless storage solution for mobile users."
Before the ios device can link up with the Wi-Drive ,a free app from the apple app store must be downloaded , once that is done , this Wi-Drive app can is done , this Wi-Drive app can synch with the Wi-Drive wirelessly
Go to the Wi-Fi settings of the iOs device , select Wi-Drive and the hook-up ic complete, next , go to the app and open up the files , up to three people can access files at the same time the delivery is very smooth and seamless.
Unfortunately , once Wi-Drive is selected, the current active Wi-Fi connection is lost , this means that once the user is done with the Wi-Drive he has to connect to the router.
And because and Ios Device plays only MP4 videos and certain types of music formats, avi and other video or audio formats stored on the Wi-Drive will not play on the iOs device.
