Kindle Fire 2 and iPad 3 heads On in 2012 - POW!
LONDON-
Amazon and Apple are preparing new versions of the Kindle fire and iPad tablets for a showdown in the first half of next year, according to the technology rumour mill.
ipadsite |
The updated Kindlefire Is said to have an 8.9-inch touch screen, compared to the current versions 7-inch display.
News site the Register , citing Taipei- based Citigroup investments Research hardware research analyst Kevin Chang, said TMS- a division of Hon Hai , Foxconn’s parent company-was manufacturing the “8.9 –inch Amazon tablet’’.
According to the Taiwanese technology Blog Digitimes, the electronic manufacturing giant Foxconn will begin production of the new Kindlefire in the first quarter of next year, in time for launch in the second the quarter.
Apple third-generation iPad will reportedly debut around the same time.
Citing’’ our most reliable source. ‘’Apple news site iLounge’s editor-in-chief Jeremy Horowitz said that the tablet will get the extra the girth thanks to twin light-bars necessary to support a higher-resolution display thought to be the ‘’retina’’ screen which made its debut on the iPhone 4, The report said that the tablet is scheduled for a March release- the usual for Apple up this point- thought it speculated that it could be ‘’publicly’’ shown as early as January.
According to IT new site Techradar, the ipad 3 will havea 2,048x1,536 pixel display, which will require another LED light bar to sustain the display’s bright colours.
Digitimes- which has had spotty record on Apple speculation – reinforced that belief with a report earlier this month that Apple was considering the extra bar. The Digitimes report added that LED bars addressed concern about heat and battery consumption.
It would set up an intriguing head-to-head clash next spring between Amazon and Apple; the iPad has so far dominated the tablet computing market.
The Android-based kindle fire , introduced in the United States this month, is widely seen as the most credible challenger yet.It costs half the price of an iPad 2. But has received mixed reviews , saying that it lacks polish. A quick update with improved specifications could mark the start of the real contest with Apple. The iPad 3 is expected to keep the technological pressure up on rivals with an upgraded processor for increasingly demanding tablet apps, the apple A6 is thought to be based on the British firm ARM’s new four-core architecture.
The iPad 2’s A5 processor has only two cores.
Rounding off the rumours, iLounge reported the next iPhone may have a bigger 4-inch display and be 8mm longer.
It will not have the rumoured tear-drop design and is still in very early stages of development.
The iLounge report rounded off its speculation by saying Apple’s MacBook pro will also get a design refresh, with the tagline ‘’think thinner’’

Black Friday Deals Week -Mobile Internet Enabled Tablets Bonanza
Black Friday is just around the corner .Well it is the first day of the holiday shopping season in the United States.
The term originated from Philadelphia , it describes the heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic the day after Thanksgiving , which falls on the fourth Thursday of November. With time, as the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas became the make or break time for retailers to end the year ‘’in the black’’ Black Friday took on a more mercenary meaning.
Regardless of where it come from , it is best regarded as the busiest shopping day of the year in the US. Some employers actually give their staff a day off on Black Friday to let them shop. Shop till you Drop
This year , black Friday falls on Nov 25 you may soon be seeing news footage of American shoppers queuing over night to be first in line when the doors open, and even coming to blows over heavily this counted items , similar to the way some buddhist temple goer rush into a temple to Pray the first incense to their god during the Chinese New Year Eve
You can be part of this event too, online shopping lets you order items from the comfort of your home, even across the pacific ocean , people can enjoy the same deals without having to jostle with other shoppers.Retailers have caught on, to cater to online shoppers , they have created Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions
According to the online shopping service Amazon , Sears ,Barne and Noble , Walmart , the Black Friday to Cyber Monday period last year saw online sales shoot up 300 per cent , indicating that people are catching on to the trend of shopping online on Black Friday.
Some items, such as the US$199 Kindle Fire (below) or the US$99 Apple TV, are not sold here and must be ordered from the US.
Everybody starts to practice buying online from the US, as it’s so much cheaper than taking transport to the shopping mall , less the traffic Jam and parking space . Relax and shop online
To maximise savings, international shopper consolidates shopping items to one US Shipping address through conceirge services . Such an address is provided by shipping services, such as comgtaeway , wich will hold all your items before shipping them together.
The downside is the waiting. It can take two weeks or more for items to be shipped to you. However, for the convenience and great discount , the wait is well worth it.
All this doesn't matter if you are in the US , Enjoy !!
Black Friday eReader deals are quite common this year, but make sure you do your homework before you buy an eBook reader on Black Friday.
To help you sort out the good from the bad, we’ve rounded up our favorite Black Friday eReader deals on Kindles, Nooks and other brands, so you can get a good deal in 2011.
Keep in mind that many new devices like the Kindle Fire and the Nook Tablet won’t be drastically discounted, but we will expect to see sales on other versions of these popular eBook readers and their accessories.
We even have a few deals you can get right now, so that you don’t have to line up on Black Friday.
Kindle Black Friday Deals
The Kindle is one of the most well known eBook readers out there, with access to millions of books, newspapers and other periodicals. Select models come with free 3G cellular connectivity that allows you to download eBooks anywhere your cell phone has service.
You can go to Best Buy today and save $50 on the Kindle Keyboard with 3G eReader. This is the special offers model, which shows ads on the display when you are not reading. This is a very good deal, especially since you don’t have to wait for Black Friday lines. The deal is available in Best Buy Stores only.
Kindle Keyboard 3G w/ Special Offers – $85
Target is offering the Kindle Keyboard with 3G and WiFi for just $85 on Black Friday. This deal is currently set up for in store only, but you may see a small quantity available for purchase online on Black Friday. This Special Offers version shows ads on the sleep screen.
Kindle WiFi w/ Special Offers – $79 + $15 Gift Card
The Kindle WiFi with Special Offers also shows ads when you are not reading, but unlike the deals above, you can only download books when you have a WiFi connection available. This will be sufficient for many people. The $79 price is the everyday price, but with $15 in Staples gift cards, makes for an attractive price.
Kindle WiFi with Special Offers – $79 + $10 Gift Card
Radio Shack offers the Kindle WiFi with Special Offers for the retail price of $79, but offers a $10 gift card with purchase, and 50% off of an accessory bundle. Not worth waiting in line for alone, but if you are going to Radio Shack for another Black Friday deal.
In the end, if you want a deal on the Kindle Fire, you should keep an eye out for limited run deals on Amazon.com and on Woot.com during Black Friday. We don’t expect many sales on the Kindle Fire because it is so new, but Amazon may surprise us.
Nook Black Friday Deals
Nook eBook readers connect to the Barnes and Noble bookstore, and offer access to millions of books. You can find deals on the eInk Nook SimpleTouch and on the color screen Nook Color. eInk books are best for outdoors, while those who like to read at night or in dark locations will enjoy the screen on the Nook Color.
You can get the latest Barnes and Noble Nook Simple Touch for $20 off at Best Buy on Black Friday 2011. This deal gives you an eInk reading experience that B&N claims is 25% faster than the competition. With sharp text and long battery life this is a good deal, but probably not worth waiting for in line unless you are buying something else too.
Nook Color - $199 + $25 Gift Card
Don’t get fooled by the $50 price drop printed next to the Nook Color on the Staplesad, this eReader/Tablet is already $199. What makes the deal attractive is the $25 Staples Gift card that you will get at checkout. The Nook Color is great for reading in dim light, reading magazines and a software update should give you access to Netflix and Hulu soon.
The 7″ color screen on the Nook Color makes it a very attractive eBook reader, and this deal includes a $20 Radio Shack gift card. This is the same model available at Staples with a $25 gift card.
So far, we haven’t seen any Black Friday deals on the Nook Tablet, but we may see Barnes and Noble offer some last-minute discounts on a select number of Nook Tablets.

Intimacy of Reading and Adaptation of Technology Approach of eReading
PRINT books may be under siege from the rise of e-books , but they still have a hold on a particular sentimental reader groups especially for the more matured readers,
At the same time, another group of parents from the baby boomer era still envy the hold of a physical book in their hand , and they also will like their off spring or grand children to have the access to books in this ebook era .
This group of reader feel the next generation of readers should at least spend their early year with physical and hardcover books ,the old fashion way . This is the case even with parents who are themselves also download ebooks onto Kindles, iPads, laptops and phones.
This e-generation are more savvier and believe that old standards should also be maintained , they are more eager to maintain this digital double standard saying they want children to be surrounded by print books, to experience turning physical pages as they learn about shapes , colours and animals but meantime also to be introduced to interactive audio ebooks .
Pottermore Audio |
They feel to have Printed books is the responsibility of the publishers ,Libraries, bookstore and Schools . They should maintain books for all the general public and to allow their children to access to for their hands on and physical engagement is important for sentimental value but the approach to acceptance to new technology is even more important
As the ebook turns digital at a faster rate than publishers expected, sales of e-books for titles aimed at children under eight have barely changed since the last 10 years , the main reason being
many print books are also bought as gifts, children’s books are also a high sales generating product for brick and-mortar bookstores
All this will also changed in time ,as bookstore are also getting creative to introduce gadgets able to provide ereading with music interface for audio video demonstration targeted to children so that they can interact with the digital media content which provide a distinct clear way for presenting content of the books with interactive digital multimedia content
While the printing industry progresses and try to cope to their new demand of e reading , Publishers say they are gradually increasing to convert book s into digital format, even though it is time-consuming and expensive , and developers have been busy creating interactive children’s book apps to suits the new development trends
While the entry of new tablet devices from Barnes and Noble and Amazon this autumn is expected to increase the demand for children’s e-books, several publishers said the industry will slowly split into multiple platform as some bookstore will focus to ebook publishing while others will maintain printed books
Kindlefire |
Entrepreneur who helps companies update their technology, feels that to meet up with industry requirement , Intimacy is something that can appreciated ,but not at the sacrifice to the forefront onslaught of Newer technology , as they are the main driver to the new economy .

Print on Demand Publishing Service for all Singapore Potential Writer
Singapore leading Telco SingTel is offering and selling ebook with the launch of Skoob, Singapore’s first e-books retailer .
Being a ebook reseller does not mean that Skoob is a Publisher as mentioned by some major newspaper in Singapore
Picture from Asiaone |
It was reported that the service has launched with more than 39.000 books from six major publishers, namely Simon and Schuster , Random house , Penguin , HarperCollins , Hachette Book Group and Macmillan with books available for android and iOS edition . That aside , SKoob will also be offering revision guides for primary –level maths and secondary-level English, chemistry and physics and maybe hopefully they will consider to provide Print of Demand service and Singapore Post One day in the future
Shelf Book from BookFest |
Presently , their range of books also include local published books from some leading Singapore Publishers like Popular , Marshall Cavendish, Cengage Learning, , Asiapac, Flame of the Forest, McGraw Hill, Sunbear, Monsoon, SAP and janus Education.
This show some contribution back to Singapore society as it will at least encourage readers to have easy access to Local authors or Singapore published books .After visiting BookFest@Singapore,we noticed there were lack of books written by Singapore Authors ,and I feel local works will need our a better platform like Skoob to help local authors showcase Singaporean's works to the World .
Presently in Asean region , we have seen Malaysia Universities , Thailand and even Indonesia venture into Print on Demand service , where the publisher encourage Local Authors to Publish their books .
One such Publishing company in Indonesia is Nulisbuku ,who believe to create a dream for all people to product their work in a Free and Easy way .Nulisbuku.com also provides an online bookstore that is used as a platform for sharing new author’s work ( book ) .
As mentioned in their website ; “Our Dream is to make all people ; be it that their occupation be a chef, a blogger , a teacher , student ,photographers , professors , everyone ( including you! ) Could be a Writer and publishes Your Book Dream ".
ebook via hongkong |
We have seen Singapore encouraging young writers to participate through the Singapore Writer festival but the theme behind the whole program is too commercialise ,and the main keynote to such program without a Print of demand facility by a Non governmental Organisation min Singapore is quite meaningless .
We only see authors with good media publicity being enrolled for such program .With Singapore high intellectual , basically a simple Governmental support to a NGO to promote writing through the National Library board of Singapore could easily implement ;
Where the Government of Singapore can easily install the most efficient Print on Demand machine in one of their agencies to encourage all potential writers to submit their manuscript for publishing . So far , Singapore Book council has run some course of self publishing with engaging some speaker from Australia ,but without the machine , it is just a FAR stone’s throw away .
P.O.D Machine |
Such investment, which is a low cost to Singapore Governmental agencies , will bring forth Singaporean Young and Old , to take up some of the interest and venture into writing as hobby or even as a career and courses of self publishing can be frequently organized at different venues throughout Singapore could boost and enhanced additional Added value to future organizing of the Singapore Writer Festival
